$20.00

$20.00

Sometimes we just need to be

reminded!

Â

A well-known speaker

started off his seminar by:

holding up a $20.00

bill. In the room of 200, he asked,

"Who would like this

$20 bill?"

Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this

$20 to one of you

but first, let me

do this.

He
proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.

He then asked, "Who

still wants it?"

Still the hands

were up in the air.

Well, he

replied, "What if I do this?"

And he

dropped it on the ground

and started

to grind it into the floor with his shoe.

He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.

"Now, who still wants it?"

Still the hands went into the air.

My friends, we have all learned a

very valuable lesson.

No matter what

I did to the money, you still wanted it

because it did not decrease in value.

It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives,

we are dropped, crumpled, and ground

into the dirt

by the decisions we

make and

the circumstances that come

our way.

We feel as though we are

worthless.

But no matter what has

happened or

what will happen, you

will never lose your value.

Dirty or

clean, crumpled or finely creased,

you are still

priceless to those who DO LOVE you.

The worth of our

lives comes not in what we do or who we know,

but by WHO WE ARE and

WHOSE WE ARE.

You are

special

-
Don't EVER forget it."

If you do not pass

this on, you may never know the

lives it touches, the

hurting hearts it speaks to,

or the hope that it

can bring.

Count your blessings,

not your problems.

"And remember:

amateurs built the ark ..

professionals

built the Titanic.

If God brings you to

it - He will bring you through it.

Pass this

message to 7 people except you and me.

HOW TO SET ATTAINABLE GOALS

Goals are the fuel in the furnace of achievement.
Brian Tracy, Eat that Frog

Goal setting techniques are used by top-level athletes, successful business-people and achievers in all fields. They give you long-term vision and short-term motivation. They focus your acquisition of knowledge and help you to organize your time and your resources so that you can make the very most of your life.

By setting sharp, clearly defined goals, you can measure and take pride in the achievement of those goals. You can see forward progress in what might previously have seemed a long pointless grind. By setting goals, you will also raise your self-confidence, as you recognize your ability and competence in achieving the goals that you have set.Artistic:

ACTIVATING YOUR INNATE POTENTIALITIES

Death in its simplest form is the termination of potentials.
                                                                    -Myles Munroe

I cry when I see the son of a tailor wearing rag. I shed tears the day I watched the true life of show of a slave riding on the horse meant for the son. Many youths wander the streets while their potentials go down the drain. The most terrible suicide is not jumping down from a skyscraper, but dying with an inborn gift, and the only bank that operates a fixed deposit a/c of potentials is ‘grave’.
Myles Munroe defined potential as unexposed ability, reserved power, untapped strength, capped capabilities, unused success, dormant gifts, hidden talents, latent power. Potential is innate, then we say it is inborn, within. To a farmer, it is that unused seed. A plant cannot exist without its seed planted, even on a good soil. Potential is what you are that the world does not know. It is what you have that goes beyond their imagination when shown. If Nigeria can generate megawatts of electricity in millions, and we can only boast of thousands of megawatts, she failed definitely in the school of potential activation.
At times, we look at ourselves as someone emptied of power (potentials). I could remember vividly someone told his friend that you people are just meant to be there (top). In his mind, he created classes. The class of those who can, and the class of those who cannot and can never. It is not a matter of saying yes we can thousand times, but doing the can if you believe you can. By latent is meant capable of being but not yet in existence. Do not just exist, but make sense. Some people will pass through a place and write their names in the sand of time, while some will pass silently. Why not make sense out of every thing you do each day.
One of the best example we can used is the fertilized human egg (zygote). It is a single cell that has the ability to form every part of the human body. It can form a giant, and likewise a dwarf. Its potentialities is unlimited. Limitation, of course only exists in our mind. It is in our mind that we build a dream, and also destroy it. Napoleon Hill once postulated that whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve. In often imagine why some people who are born to take up their places in this World are still begging for spaces. Is this place to small to contain your manifestation? Step into the sky and soar because the sky is not even your limit. Break through your barriers!
Production possibility curve in Economics shows the maximum possible combination of two goods that can be produced when resources (potentials) are fully and efficiently utilized. Success in life is maximized at that point where you have efficiently and fully utilize the resources God has deposited in you. The mind of an undergraduate has been so well conditioned to passing exams. He strives tooth and nails to getting good grades in all his courses. That’s fine! The crux of the credo is that he may not dedicate that much time to bringing the best out of himself if he is not a student at all. This applies to a government worker, and all those who work for money.
10 tips to discovering and activating that unused energy in you.

· Discover your strength. Locate your oil field. A man that is not located will be automatically dislocated. What is that thing that you can do that give you a sense of fulfillment?

· Dig it out! Be a potential prospector. Mr. X cultivated an inherited land for fifty years, and later sold it to Mr. Y for a dime as a result of poor yield. Mr. Y later discovered that underneath lies a stream of crude oil. He hit a jackpot by exploring, and now  a billionaire

· Be diligence. If a lazy man hits a jackpot, he looses everything in a casino game. No wonder Proverbs 22:29 emphasizes that ‘see a man who is diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

· Be tenacious. Possess a strong will, and be passionate about your dreams.

· Procrastination is the thief of potentials. Avoid it!

· Enroll in the school of time management. A man who sleeps, and dies at the age of 75has spent 25 years of his life on the bed. Run away from time wasters. Time wasters are potential wasters.

· Conceiving + believing= f(achieving). Aristotle never imagined a man in the moon. It was conceived, believe and then, achieved.

· Set goals and have a plan. A man who set goals get golds on his way. Have a daily, weekly, monthly plan of how to achieve those goals.

· Pray your way into purpose. The place of prayer cannot be under estimated when talking about maximum possible activation of innate potentialities. Isaac Newton invented telescopes, Hear him: “I can take my telescopes, and look millions and millions of miles into space, but I can lay it aside and go into my room, shut the door, get down on my knees, and get closer to God than I can, assisted by all the telescopes and material agencies on earth”. Pray!

· Lend a hand. It is in helping others that you discover more about the real you. Brighten that corner where you are. See a need and meet it.

· I leave you with the words of Martin Luther King Jr.

"If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep even as Michelangelo paints, as Beethoven composed music, as Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should do it so well that even men and angel will pause, and say, Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well”.

BUILDING A WORLD CHANGING MENTALITY.

Isaac Newton once postulated that, “if I have seen farther, it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants.” The essence of this write up is to help you cultivate and activate the World changing mentality in you; showcasing the feats of the movers and shakers of the World, as well as making you the next world changer.

Who are the World changers? They are men and women that have suffered hardship and trying time, and have the determination of ending it. They are those who, on the course of their research and undertakings, have discovered that the World is battling a series of problems and have devised means to solving the problems. They place global development, peace and progress as their first priority. World changers are World builders, they may not build an empire, but they can transform empires. They are those who influence others with their lifestyles and affect others positively. Give me hundred World changers and I will show you hundred inspiring and motivating feats. Give more and I will show you more. They create feats, make landmarks and set paces. They are the crusaders, they move for anything that can make the World a better place. They are men and women who believe in the potentialities and power of their dreams.

George Simon Ohm was one of the great pioneers of electricity. He was born in the Bavarian city of Erlangen in 1787. Ohm’s father was a locksmith for the University of Erlangen, with a taste for Mathematics. He was brought up with training in two lines, but he liked Mathematics better than locksmithing. He was a dedicated school teacher nearly all his life but his good teachings though appreciated, but there was never any promotion.Read more

Quote of the week.

'I do the very best I know how, the best I can and I mean to keep on doing it to the end. If the end brings me out all right, what is said against me will not amount to anything. If the end brings me out all wrong, then a legion of angels swearing I was right will make no difference'.
- Abraham Lincoln

MISSION

World Changers are set to rub minds together on how to solve one of the major problems facing the youth these days. Do you know that the working population is not working? The place of youth empowerment cannot be left out when talking about change in any given society. The youths are idle, walking the streets a begging, engaging in all kinds of social vices you can ever think of.

I met one youth some few weeks ago begging for alms. This is the conversation that ensued:

Youth X: Uncle, Pls. give me some money.
World Changer:(I told him to come)What is your name?
Youth X:( He mentioned his name)
World Changer: Where are your parents?
Youth X:They are at home.
World Changer: What do both of them do for living?
YouthX: My father is a farmer, and my mother is a trader.
World Changer: Where are you schooling now?
Youth X: (He mentioned a secondary school in Ile- Ife in Osun State, Nigeria, but told me that he has dropped out)

This is a case study of a Nigerian Youth who has the wherewithal, innate potentialities but no drive or motivation to bring the best out of him. The guy and I discussed that evening, although I gave him some money to God's glory, but I warned him to desist from begging. I advised him on things to do instead of begging.
Sheer determination coupled with tenacity of purpose is one of the determinants of success in life.Greatness at times is not a function of how rich and influential your parents are.

It is through collective responsibilities that we can foster the desired development and change. What we do not have, we cannot give.I see a Nigerian who can hold his head up high in all nook and corners of the world. I see a youth with sound mind who is ever ready to break through limitations, and possesses a tenacity of purpose; who strives to be the best . I see the new Nigeria of our dream.Be the changer.
